I purchased an A Pillar dual gauge pod. My existing A Pillars are gray and the one i bought from Autometer is Black. I want to paint it to match the gray. Is there any prep steps I need to take before spraying it with a matching gray? I was wondering if i needed to sand it down and what not. I'm going for more of a mat finish and not shine or gloss as i want it to match the rest of the car. Any suggestions? thanks.

Sand it down, use a good plastic primer and then your topcoat. Just make sure your primer and paint is plastic paint.

Sorry to bring up an old post but after searching this is all I found!

Do any of you have any suggestions on a color to paint it to match? Mine is fiberglass and I want it to be as close to the same gray as the other side as possible. I also want it to be more of a flat, non glossy paint.

Thanks for the help.
