how much that set you back??
my buddy and I got them together so john cut us a little break, 1200 for each one plus he's gonna do the cutting and welding on the exhausts so we can install the header (different connectors, as you can see)![]()

nice! you think this will bump you to the 300 hp mark? you had the dcrh before right?my buddy and I got them together so john cut us a little break, 1200 for each one plus he's gonna do the cutting and welding on the exhausts so we can install the header (different connectors, as you can see)
We shall see, I'm hoping so but now with more insight of what I am looking to get out of the car, I'm hoping to see a modest increase in the midrange. And yes, I have the DCRH currently and a 2.25" exhaust. The new header is getting coupled with a thermal 3". Soon as I can though, I'm gonna have a bigger resonator welded on the thermal to quiet it down cuz I KNOW it's gonna be loud as fuck. Heh.nice! you think this will bump you to the 300 hp mark? you had the dcrh before right?
great thanks for the info, good luck with the car, it deserves this header!all in all, it took just over 2 months. I prefer hytech to SSR for a number of reasons, but the biggest deciding factor was that overall the wait time was less and the cost was less, since we got a price break and I'm local to hytech so I didn't have to pay shipping and tax. SSR is great, don't get me wrong, I'm not talking down on their product at all, but the hytech was the better option for me.
yes, the primaries are a reasonable bit longer with shorter secondaries than his (though overall you can tell mine is longer all together). And yes, SSR will do custom builds as well, of course. But yes, doug's header was more of the typical hytech header for a K20, a little modification done to it for power level and possible upgrades.whats the main reason the headers look different? urs has longer primaries and his looks as though the primaries take a different angle.
im assuming that its for different set ups, which is cool that u can tell hytech ur mods and goals and they will make u a header custom for that. im sure ssr will do the same, those 2 companies are innovative. not only can u buy an "off the shelf" one from each, but they will also custom for u too.
So you have the typical 2.0L header then? I thought you were like 2.35L or something along those lines, I don't think it will matter that much either way your gonna gain a ton compared to your old exhaust setup which was to say the least very inefficient for your setup.yes, the primaries are a reasonable bit longer with shorter secondaries than his (though overall you can tell mine is longer all together). No, mine is the one with the specific build. It's modeled after the typical K20 header because I'm using a K20 block and not a K24 block. His is the typical K20 header but like I said I think john made the secondaries for him slightly longer but left the primaries the same length he'd normally do (while my primaries are longer but secondaries are shorter). But yes, both of us were running DCRH though he had a slightly better exhaust setup. Regardless, expect some big numbers from him as well, he was already at 254hp and 175tq.
