Hi everyone,
Thought I would post this here first before putting in on other sites, since I was able to purchase this vehicle through the forums.
I am selling my 2003 RSX Type-S with 93,900 miles. I purchased this vehicle last July with 86K miles on the clock from a member off ClubRSX. He bought the car off someone in the Midwest and basically reconditioned the car into great condition.
The car has OEM A-Spec kit, front and rear bumper, side skirts and interior trim pieces. Unfortunately, this does not come with the OEM A-Spec wheels, as one of the previous owners sold them (what a shame). The only mod on this when being sold will be the DC Sport Short Ram Intake and Enkei PF-01 Wheels. I have an Invidia Q300 exhaust on currently (less than 100 miles), but will be returning that back to stock for sale. Unless you want to add $200 on top and keep the exhaust .The Invidia exhaust does sometimes hit the rear sway bar if going over big bumps, which probably can be fixed by some adjustment or blanketing the exhaust. It sounds great (not too loud), but does have some drone when coasting. The only issue I’ve had with this car was the SRS light popping up, which I had to get one of the impact sensors replaced.
I bought this car with the intentions of it being my daily driver (70-mile round trip), however due to Covid I no longer need to drive into the office in the near term or foreseeable future.
The tyranny of my wife demands that I grow up and be responsible and only have one car, so here it goes. In an ideal world I would keep this car till the day it dies but had to choose between this and my STI hatch (which I am contemplating of selling too). I am in no rush to sell, and hope the market is quiet, so I can tell my wife no one wants to buy my car. Cash/check in hand to do a test drive and am open to a PPI or any other testing which you will have to cover on your end. I will be as upfront and honest as possible, and below are bunch of details on the good and bad. I will start off with the bad/cons first and list a high price to deter potential buyers.
Please excuse the dirty exterior and interior, the car is sitting out since the garage is getting refinished. Interior pics show some wires laying, but I am just disconnecting my dash cam wires. Pretty sure there are some other details, which I will be more happy than to add and answer any questions you may have.
Price: $9K OBO
The Bad:
- I am listed as the 8th owner on the Carfax report. The car changed ownership 5 times in a span of 2 year (2011-2013)
- The car does not have rust on the frame or body, but there is surface rust where the control arms are. This is something I planned on replacing down the line when/or if the ball joint ever got bad.
- I was rear ended in December 2019 by a guy texting and driving in the middle of morning rush hour on the highway. I have pics and even a video if you dare to see...The rear bumper, headlights and reinforcement beam had to be replaced
- The repair shop could not find me an OEM replacement A-SPEC rear bumper lip, so they tried to piece it together the best they could, the rear A-Spec lip has a small gap between the lip and bumper. It bothers me, but maybe not others. Pics attached.
- The rear windshield wiper fluid doesn’t come out, could be the motor
- One wheel has a curb rash, from when I took a turn way too tight
- The paint is in pretty good condition, however there are some dings and dent on passenger side door, which is hard to see unless you really stare
- The driver side seat has wear and tear on the left side seat bolster
- One of the previous owners tinted the rear hatch window, and its starting to bubble. I honestly thought of taking it off
- Interior Plastic door sill cracked have pictures
- I spilled coffee on the passenger side carpet…
The Good:
- Low miles - 93.9k miles, I put on less than 10k the past year of ownership
- Transmission: Fluid was replaced with Honda MTF, before I purchased. There are no grinds or pops when you shift gears, especially that notorious 2nd/3rd gear
- Clutch fluid was replaced at 86K
- New alignment at 86K
- Power Steering flush at 86K
- Brake fluid was bled and replaced at 86K
- Brake rotors replaced at 86K
- Serpentine belt replaced at 86K
- Valve adjustment at 86K
- Front brake pads replaced at 90K
- New Battery
- Tires have plenty of tread = 8-9/32 all around
- Overall paint is in great condition for its age, outside the couple dings and dents. The car went through a paint correction and detail before purchase
