That's my other thing. I've heard of companies not honoring warranties because of stupid reasons. I'd rather deal with a company that has been around (kenwood, alpine, infinity, pioneer etc) that is well known. It also goes to the fact that they can measure things differently from each brand.

Is it stupid to keep things of the same company together? For instance my sub is Alpine, so I got a mono block alpine amp rather than say a kicker, or pioneer+
