Well, it's not a big investment and I want things "clean" not rigged so you got any suggestions for camber arms for Mugen? I'm off to look myself right now after not too much luck earlier.

Just get the Ingalls or SPC. Pretty sure they make both and are sold though kseriesparts.com (the former ClubRSX store).

BTW, Kpro FTW! :jelly: It's less expensive than drugs, sex, and alcohol :rotfl: or gambling

Actually some local guys, Voodoo 13, make some rears I'm going to look at.

Comparably priced, locally made, I gotta throw 'em a bone.

Have heard some folks say get two sets of fronts, just in case. Tough on the noob here. :run:

Some pure sexy did arrive today though

1.75 " primaries
2" secondaries
2.5" final merge

Got a copy of Pipemax, header design software, and gonna play around a bit. I'm one of those guys that's dangerous with a little knowledge sometime :D

Put off off the Kpro for a couple of weeks. This month's budget is maxed.

Belated thx, man. :fistbump:
Got the r. wiper delete done and picked up a Type R rear sway from ICB Motor Sports. Pretty awesome to have a really good JDM source local...if you like black holes to throw money in!! :rotfl:

Owner's a great guy, very informative and JDM/OEM gung ho all the say.

Got a local guy gonna put the Mugen SS and sway on tomorrow AM.
Started to do it myself but I'd have a few more tools to get and I wanted to connect w/ guy for later, bigger projects that I haven't done and would need big time guidance.

Still vacillating on my build plan. Either s/c, perfect w/ 4.3 fd and drivability, or go NA w/ lot of JDM parts and a very low fd =>5.3, TSX 6th and, of course, lsd for either. I know s/c is more power but there's something about mixing and matching oem parts that is sweet and maybe as much fun for less money if I stay away from deep pocket ballar items.

Sure would like a Mugen intake, though. :weeeeeeeeee:

 at 5.3FD! Mine is 4.7 and is short enough! If I had a 4.3 I'd maybe consider a 5.1 (Type R) but man a 5.3 or 5.4 would have so much wheelspin I'd think! Especially if you do any bolt-ons and/or keep the stock flywheel. I know you said LSD, but dang, lol. Make sure you have some decent tires. Actually I would most definitely lighten the flywheel because it helps with having to shift like every 2 seconds (syncs up the revs faster so you spend less time shifting).

I like the wiper delete!

Sweet man its always seeing an older fella work on these cars and moving in the right direction!

Keep it up, I like what you have done already and your plans for it. Cant wait to see this car progress.
Thx, mang. I'm a young fucker @ heart :giggity:
My mechanic didn't show Sat, or didn't till after he said he would, so I opted out of that. Bought jack and stands and the few sockets I didn't have, so going DIY. Picked up a decent china built jack, Arcan 3 ton, out of Costco for <$100 and picked up 4, 4 ton stands at Sears for <$60. So, I install the Mugen SS and sway, got a new jack/stands and save $90. Like an OG gearhead, amirite? :run:

I'm pretty confident w/ bolt ons, just didn't have the tools at the moment and am getting more adverse to manual labor with each day.

Been noticing the small amount of added vibration from the engine torque damper. Small price to pay for the added stability though. Shifts much cleaner under power but that shifter is a POS. I am SO tempted to make a ktuned box my next purchase. Seriously, unless you're focused on dyno numbers/sheer power as opposed to the actual driving experience that shifter should be kicked to the curb pronto, imo.

Got a CD5 manual makes my rsx seem like grasping for straws. But, it does have a lot of miles and I shouldn't judge it too harshly till I get it refurbished OR just save the refurb and go ahead for the Ktuned and quit bad mouthing this sweet >200k DD.

Gonna change fluid this week too, hopefully that'll help as well.

Definitely do the fluid change. But hey, dunno if you've seen the alternative to the Ktuned shifter, which is:

  • shifter bushings (under shifter)
  • shift cable bushings (tranny end, on top of it)
  • Ktuned or MTEC pivot ball and neutral return spring (in cable shifter arm)
  • MTEC tranny springs, additionally if you like (in tranny, to push cables back to neutral)

I have the first three and it helped a ton. Enough not to splurge any more on my beater. But, if this were a track car, well... Ktuned assembly no doubt, lol

I hear ya on the averse to DIY work comment and i'm only 34! :spin:

Hey, you say old. How old? From my experience I find that OEM on the track goes around quicker and smoother than my Rotrex 388,5 hp with more than 250 tq. Be very thoughtful on how you plan on modding your car. More HP is not always Mo Better. If I were you, and it's just me, I would do bolt ons and a tune but make sure you do the LSD. I would never trade my quaiffe for any of the mods I've done. I was pushing 217 to the wheels with CAI Injen, RBC mani, Hondata gasket PLM header (fucking garbage), Thermal 3 inch hella sweet and Kpro with tune. You may have smaller cams than Z1 but I would get her like that. Doing a suspension? I mean I guess, I wouldn't do coilovers that are only good on the track. Hopefully the Mugens are better than stock. I think the price is better than Jeffery Dahmer's price but not by much. I think the )02-04 needs a little lower but other than that I could see an all motor 2.7 build. Now that should be low key. ;-P

Thx, man, for the insight, I appreciate it. I'm 64 next month. More when I get home. Got Mugen SS and r. sway on.and it doesn't even drive like the same car. It's great

Right on, I'm making over my suspension, bushings, brakes and clutch at the moment. I got a set of the KW Variant 2's. I'm glad you like it. I am more than sure that if you do the bolt-ons with LSD and tune you will love the new car. It will definitely feel a lot faster and it will take most of the new stuff with 8 cylinders that are stock on the street. I have kept up with Vettes, beaten Camaros, Mustangs and a few other semi exotic cars. You will love you a set of the Dunlop Direzza Z2's.
Enjoy your ride. I know that I do and I bought mine new in 05. 47 now. Thought I was the old focher here on this page. :rotfl: Age is just a number and your head is in the right place. Keep on keepin. Rest is rust and I bet we can give many of the younger more energetic kids a run for their money. :chuck:

almost 64 and saying mang :rotfl: u are a young fucker at heart  ktuned shifters look pretty, but I hear way better things about Hybrid Racing's shifter. The 2-3 shift of HR's is supposedly wayyy better than Ktuned's, unless you get shifter stops, and a 5th gear lock out, HR's shifter may save your shift fork with hard shifts and a blown motor from missing shifts, at least this is the direction I'm going. Typespaz did an awesome review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD8s10w9D5Q

welcome to ClubRSX!

Hardrace 60a "street" mounts, Hardrace suspension bushings, sub-frame collars, kpro + dyno tune. this will lock in your engine and be very easy on the vibes.

LSD is a must for the performance minded.

Mtek shifter kit on oem shifter is the way to go from what I read(I read alot!), get your mugen box for better than stock box and really cool piece of JDM carbon, typeR wing for looks.

k24 with supercharger is most people's dream daily setup.. I have a k24 that I will be supercharging next spring hopefully. this year didn't work out...:shady:

Your camber should be fine at oem specs but if you want to get performance camber specs then bolts are cheap. Get them.

I am 37 and don't have throw away money but I love my RSX through 8 years of ownership and 170,000mi don't mind putting the money into it. I am going to drive a rsx until Honda/Acura makes something better overall price/efficiency/performance/looks/utility. But even then they will throw in a bunch of electronic crap that will hinder mods and raise cost and weight. Ill have 2 rsx before they do that anyways.
You may be new but you might want to start a showoff/build thread since you have a lot of interest/replies probably due to the old guy thing. Its much easier to advise an older person on what than a younger one on what where how and why. Enjoy your RSX and get out and go to any car meets in your area and enjoy the culture:vtec: and if you really want to get things going, get rsx and hot model girl pics. they love those here.:chuck:

Road trip to the East. Blower motor transistor blew, I hope that's what it is, in Tupelo, MS. Avg >30 mpg @ 80-82 mph. Mugen SS and r. sway make a great street enthusiast handling ride, for me. Gonna pick one up tomorrow somewhere and get that baby blowing again.

Yeah my transistor just blew also. I picked up some k&n cabin filters to go with it. that way the blower motor wont have to work too hard and go out also, but if it does 10 years is fine by me for replacement. I have A-spec suspension with an Eibach rear sway and it does make for a well balanced daily. as opposed to making drastic changes that require more drastic changes to feel balanced these setups take the already good manufacturers tuning and tweak them in the direction of performance and the result is well balanced, composed, daily drivability with excellent turn in, roll, and weight control under varying circumstances. Many use the term "the way it should have come" and it sure feels that way with only 2 simple mods.

I know all about the old guy syndrome. First time I met some RSX buddies at the track they called me Sir, and that was years ago. :)

My Mugen SS came and went (you may have seen my long write-up about it), but I still have the car after all this time. Still enjoy the supercharger whine, but only take her out every now and then (all of 25,000 miles on her).

Hey,
Old guy, retired but not dead, decided to get a new hobby and picked up a one owner, 50-something old single lady, Type-S w/ 210K on it. Runs like a top w/ exception of 3rd gear being fussy and needing a little extra attention when shifting.

Can't believe how much I've learned in just a few weeks reading thru threads. Great site, guys!

Want an eventual look that is more subtle/sleeper w/ as many oem, or related, parts as possible. Just ordered a Mugen Sport Suspension and picked up some '04 TL-S rims that were chromed, 17x8 +45. Gonna wait to see how the susp kit looks before deciding what spacers I might want.

Next will probably replace a lot of bushings and usual high mileage things. If anyone knows of any well known problems w/ hi mile 2003 please let me know.

Eventually want a K24 franken w/ aftercooler CTE around 250-300 hp for a street enthusiast ride.

Looking forward to seeing the stance on the Mugen kit.
