Hello all, long time lurker 1st post.

If anyone knows of any well known problems w/ hi mile 2003 please let me know.
I recently picked up an 02 140k km / 90k mi. I've had to replace the ball joints in the control arms, the brake rotors, and the knock sensor. The OEM shocks are said to be good for 80k Km mine will be replaced soon.

Interesting fyi is that the auto shop I frequent has a restaurant next door and the owner had a Type-S he tracked for a long time. I was told that the auto shop more or less annually replaced the knock sensor for the guy.

Something to consider.

-Cheers!

I know all about the old guy syndrome. First time I met some RSX buddies at the track they called me Sir, and that was years ago. :)

My Mugen SS came and went (you may have seen my long write-up about it), but I still have the car after all this time. Still enjoy the supercharger whine, but only take her out every now and then (all of 25,000 miles on her).
Thx, man...wanna hear something weird, I just went thru Farragut, TN
On a cross country reconnect-with-lost-friends-before-you-can't-remember-who-they-are thing and was in the area visiting family. Synchronicity

Absolutely loving the Mugen SS % r. sway upgrade.
A/C motor went out and replaced it and resistor.
Now the floor pans, both sides, so gonna have to see if it's the uber cloud burst I drove thru yesterday (driver side issue?) or clogged A/C drain. Living in Phoenix I never have had to worry about rain and/or high humidity...so, we'll see!!

I'm having way too much fun to fret about any of it. I don't have much but I don't owe much, either.

Visiting the folks gravesite with my daugher. Cemetery is near church where I was baptized, although it didn't take...lol, however it really is a beautiful structure and I have fond memories.

Hopefully the Mugens are better than stock. I think the price is better than Jeffery Dahmer's price but not by much.
wait, what? is that "an arm and a leg?" :rotfl:

:) I don't get into religion or politics but it doesn't sound like you've spent much time in Roman Catholicism and I'm MORE than content with I got now. ;)

On another note, got the A/C drain flowing again :hb:

On to Lebanon, VA tomorrow to reconnect with another brother from another mother..:rotfl:

OLD FART just Crashed at 53 mph

Hello nice car, I got mine at 52 yrs old and fell in love with my S and 3 days ago I parted with her. An IDIOT cut me off and then jammed on his breaks. I got it all on VIDEO(thanks Garmin) Never had a real issue and was so much fun to drive. Waiting on my insurance to insult me with there low ball offer. I won't be able to replace her with what they are gonna give me. Keep her waxed and clean and she will reward you with a lot of FUN!

Please enjoy her she is fun to drive. I do hope she treats you well.

ENJOY

Looking good so far man, there's nothing better than a clean JDM RSX.

As someone who's run a stock K24A4 and a fully built and boosted K20A2 (Both Kpro'd in an EP3) I think the Frank swap will be the best of both. I plan on building one for my RSX later this year as well.

Sorry for the late reply, bro, but my world has been spinning too fast. :fistbump:
Cray cray at home and 5K mile road trip, in 5 weeks, wore my old ass out for awhile.

I will shoot you a text, if that's cool, so I can come be the grand dad at the next meet. :D

Considering the road trips you like to do, I would suggest not doing that. LSD? Get the best one you can afford.

Also, I suggest downloading this if you haven't already

Haha, yeah, probably won't be a lot more long road trips. But a LSD is definitely on my list. Thanks for the link. I got it early in the game.

Next is getting the header on.

Can't figure out why my profile pic doesn't show in my replies...whatevers.

As you’re finding out the RSX is a pretty dependable ride even with some serous mods. Lucky for us after 14 years the RSX’s body lines are still in style. My RSX has 185K miles on the odometer but she still turns heads and is respected buy newer cars with twice as many cylinders. Enjoy tweaking RSX to fit your style.

I get props often, usually from younger guys. It's a classic, timeless body style. Being an older guy I think the only hold up is being fwd but I grew up driving GTO's and 442's so.... :hb::hb:

I know how you feel. Back in my younger days I use to race a Z28. Now I enjoy squeezing out enough WHP from a two liter engine that makes drivers of newer muscle cars feel like they just bought a lemon. Check out the short clip on YouTube “RSX Type S SC E83” of me testing out my RSX in my driveway.
