Question about RPM's, reflash, and ecu

I bought my car about 6 months ago from an auction. There were certain things done to the car, but nonetheless they werent really listed at the auction.

There was an apexi n'1 catback exhaust with custom piping and thats it. I installed some exterior mods and simply a CAI.

I was looking to go to reflash and race headers next. I see some people saying that combo is a bad idea, or maybe not since I have an 04.

The car has about 32k miles on it.

The question to where I am getting at is that sometimes the car redlines at 8500-8600 RPMs. Is it possible that someone already messed with my ecu and got reflash?

Sorry for the noob question but how can i actually tell if there is reflash done already?

e-mail Hondata with your question with your ECU serial number, they can tell you.
i could tell mostly by the high redline and vtec engagement. im sure every #4 owner opts for the 5200 crossover.
no, it hasn't been reflashed, because Hondata's program for the Type-S automatically lowers the VTEC point to 5200 rpm...
hey does anyone know if the reflashed ecu is plug and play? i got someone selling theirs for a 05+ and he tells me i have to take it to the dealer and get it match up my immobilizer and keys in order to work? but then someone said you dont need to take it to the dealer. you just simply plug it in and your done?

yea i whould like to know too!:iamwiths:
You can't put a different Honda ECU into your car without getting the keys matched to it. The only exception to this is an ECU with K-pro as it has the option of disabling the immobilizer.
so if i do buy the reflesh from someone and i have to take it to the dealer with my keys and immoblizer to get it reflesh agian so it can work on my car?
In order for they keys to be matched, the ECU must be installed into the car. How you get the car to the dealer is your problem. If you still have your old ECU, swap it when you get to the dealer. If not, it's tow truck time. Just take all of your keys with you, they all need to be done if you want them all to work. The immobilizer is irrelevant, leave it alone, as long as it's still installed in the car.
thank rensoyka +rep! the only thing am bring is all my keys and the reflesh ecu!
