So I was about to get tint put on and the installer said I would have to put a strip of vinyl over the dot matrix in the top of the rear windhshield and tint only up to the dot matrix or it would peel off the dot matrix and look like shit. Oh yea and he wanted $20 for the vinyl any one haveyahy information if his is legit? Thanks

what? the tint wouldnt peel off the dot matrix. it just gonna have some bubbles. just tell him to cut the tint before the dot matrix. mine has tint over it and it looks fine, very few bubbles and you can't even tell

i've seen both vinyl used and not it looks legit on the cars that have it.

i've had vinyl put on mine in the past (retinted since to go darker) and it looked fine

Mines tinted no problem. On my GSR the tinter even used an adhesive to assure it wouldn't peel

I dont think anyone's mentioned, but the vinyl goes on the outside (for those who are wondering)
Looks better than scattered air bubbles all over. Mine was shaped to that top portion & came out clean as f*ck
