Rear Wiper...Gone

Hi everyone...I did something I thought I'd never think of doing but I did it, I removed my rear wiper.

And I did all at the cost of $3...cheap cheap.

I'm posting this as an alternative method because another fellow ClubRSX member is charging $15 and I thought if anyone was intersed in saving themselves some cash, this was another effective way it could be done.

All you do is go to the local hardware store and pick up a trim cap, it covers something on doors or door pannels...it's just a circle cap baisicly.

You then use "Marine Water Proof" Silicone to attatch the cap to the hole in the window.

This Silicone works very nice and doesn't leak in the least. I used it on my DIY JDM Black Housing Headlights and no problems what so ever with water leaking in. I did these in July last year, the 2nd day I got the car and it's been great.

So if anyone has any questions about it just PM me...just thought I'd share the info.

Later...Jennifer :wavey:

Here's a pic. of the finished product...sorry about the fog on the bottom of the window.

I like it because that's how the JDM ITR's come in Japan, and I hardly ever use mine so I figgured why not...I like to be a little different and no one around here has it done...yet.

I kinda need it because of the crazy weather here. The window heater just doesn't work fast enough heh.

Good mod though. Makes the back look clean especially if you shaved everything int he back too !

I think You should, I'm getting the Type R Spoiler in a week and I think with no wiper it gives it a sleek look.

Nice job on the rear wiper. I have another quick question.....I was checking out your gallery and noticed you have the "i-VTEC DOHC" decal down by your rear tirewell. I have been looking for those forever and was wondering if you had them custom made or purchased them from somewhere in particular. Thanks in advance.

Hi, i had them custom made, my bf ~ fiance' works at a vinyl graphics shop, on his lunch break he made that for me.

I haven't seen them anywhere either, it's not a common decal.

Come to think of it, I probalby coudl've done that as well.

But why pay when I can get it done for free...plus I wanted mine a little smaller than the Si.

I didn't want this honking thing on my car and that's all you saw from miles away...you know.

I think i'm the member you are reffering too.

The kit I sell for $15 does NOT use silicone to attach the cap to the window. Using silicone to attach it seems pretty ghetto and not very weather proof if you ask me. My kit comes with washers so water won't get into the car. My cap comes with a threaded bolt so you can make it very tight against the window.

Ghetto - - - MORE LIKE CUSTOM. You know you don't have to spend 15.00 to make it look nice and the WATER PROOF silicone that I used is guaranteed not to leak. You should be lucky I mention your post and I didn't BASH It in any way I think you Owe me an apology considering my creative skills were crushed by your use of the word ghetto.
Homes.
