This is a tough question to answer because aftermarket control arms can be wider or skinner depending on the manufacturer. Also some sites like car.id don't really differentiate between base and type s so they can send you parts really made for another car. The important thing to identify is the size of the taper, as you have mentioned the ball joint doesn't fit. This could be just the quality of the part itself or the wrong part completely.
