Shift Boot question again

ok guys... basically im looking to get a new shift boot because i hate the plastic grey collar on my aftermarket knob. i really want the dc2-r look with the black collar thing on there. like this...

so basically can i use a dc2 boot? i've searched and read it wasnt possible, or quite a hassle.? any ideas? and if i can or cant... can i purchase just the collar somewhere and buy a new boot, or use my current boot? sick of searching just looking for a definitive answer:thumbsup: . thanks

buy a oem rsx aspec knob and it comes wit the black part...it can be used on our stock boot too....you need a different shit knob than the stock one if you are doing this too

www.jdmland.com Has that same boot but it comes off the DC5 ITR, so it's made to fit our car. Check it out in the "Interior" section under the DC5 section

i already have the ITR knob and it didnt come with anything but the knob, not even a nut... i just hand tighten it with teflon tape and its solid. i kinda want the annodized knob next but anyways... i just want that grey piece gone

i was in the same boat i bought the dc2 boot and cut it to match my stock boot, but i cut it to short so it sags it doesn't bother me much and it still looks nice better than stock haha

i already have a knob.. i dont want the aspec one... i really just need that collar... can i take one from a dc2 teg?

I went with the DC2 shift boot from eBay $24 shipped, cut it and made it fit onto my DC5 console. Paired it up with an S2k knob and voila. Here are the results
