the third backed out, it'd be too expensive for us to get a house between two people, and we couldnt find a third, so we just decided to do an apt instead.

holy shit that place is fuckin ill. We don't really have shit like that here. I miss AZ I wish AZ was on the coast. If it was, i would've never moved back east after college. Those prices are pretty cheap too. $930 for a 835sq ft 1 br is not bad at all.
