Figure I would post this here because this issue plagued me for almost 2 years before I figured out the cause.

I wasn't able to shift into 3rd or 5th gear. 1st was iffy. 2nd, 4th, 6th, and R worked just fine. Mechanics told me it was the clutch, or the master cylinder/slave cylinder, the hydraulic line, the tranny. Basically, everything that would cost an arm or a leg.

It was the cable not being seated properly in its housing.

If you have this problem, please, just pop open your console and check to make sure the cable is secured and tightened. Don't be like me and almost spend $1,000 replacing a clutch when its not needed.

HOLY crap i wonder if thats the problem i'm having right now !! 1st is hard to get in, 3rd grinds, and 5th is hard to get into.. 2nd, 4th, 6th, R are just fine.. i had just bled the clutch, thats fine, changed my tranny fluid it was a lil bad.. one dude told me its my clutch, another just said its my tranny.. so you are talking about the shifter cables ?

Yes.

Follow this video to remove the center console. Check the cable that connects to the shift knob, and ensure nothing is loose whatsoever.
