05 Type-S 175,xxx miles, Race header, no cat, Cold Air Intake, Hondata Race Header reflash.

Most of the time it runs just great, but a couple of weeks ago driving in light rain it would miss and lose power about the time it should have gotten to VTEC. Then the problem went away and it started running good. Since then it has run fine in mostly dry weather.

Then today, with some rather heavy rain, it started losing power again. It seems that it was losing power when I tried to accelerate. This started about 12 miles from home when it was fully warmed up. Then the problem went away again.

No CEL. How should I proceed? I suppose there are no codes to read since there is no CEL -- right?

Thanks!

From my exp. with Rain and CAI it Sounds like your air filter is getting soaked and therefore causing you to feel lag and loss in power. When I used to run my CAI in rain and my filter would soak (no fender liners) my rsx would start to buck and bog until I pulled over and let the filter dry a bit with car off. However in my case each time I had this happen (2 or 3 times) It would always burn out one of my O2 sensors and send me CEL for it don't remember which but I think it was the secondary one.

On a dry day take a spray bottle and mist water around the motor and try to recreate the issue. Wires with small electrical leaks can arc to ground when wet. These cars are less prone, but a controlled recreation may point to what is wrong.

Thanks. That makes sense to me. I have (or had) a hydroshield, but I had the car serviced and maybe they took it off. I will check my air filter and get a new hydroshield if necessary. I need to replace the air filter anyway.
