Hello, I am trying to match the stance of the vintage Spoon DC5 that was run in the Super Taikyu series in Japan. This particular set up is 17x8 with 245/40r17 Advan RS Wheels. I am looking at a performance suspension for occasional track use but do not want to rub on the streets. What kind of problems would be presented with 245/40r17 and what offset would be recommended? Do fenders have to be rolled with this size? 17x8 Advan RZ2 (45mm offset)wheels are offered at Vivid Racing. Also, what kind of springs/coilovers would be recommended to be stiff enough to not rub on the streets yet not beat the living daylights out of you on the street? thanks for the input !

Thanks I understand all of that but what kind of drop do you think would achieve the Spoon DC5 look? 2", 1.5" , the car looks pretty slammed but it has very stiff rates so that it will not rub. I am just looking at the holy grail of fits to look good but also not be too low and rub on speed bumps plus everything in the road. thanks

Interesting, the article mentioned 245/40's but the video is the true source so we'll go with that. 215/45R17 it is. In that case, the 17x7.5's might be the better fit? I've watched these videos dozens of times and they get better every time. I think that these old school Advan wheels are super tight and you don't see them around too much, but they aren't cheap !!!
