Steering and/or suspension problem

540 Views 16 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  JUANonJUAN
hey guys I need a hand on this !! When i turn my wheel all the way to the left .. it seems like something on the front passenger side is making a noise .. like some cracking... It seems to be something related to the steering. any help ???
Also, my other concern is: my car at around 45 to 55 mph makes a really loud noise.. it seems to be either a wheel bearing or my cheap (wyndstar) tires.. I've heard that cheap -low profile- tires are supposed to make a noise.. but I'm not sure if it's a wheel bearing or the tires... any help ??? It'd be appreciated.
My only mod suspension is Tein S lowering springs !! is there anything else I should change suspension wise in order to help the shocks ? is it a common problem the one I'm having? .
Thanks.

it sounds like something cracking ... like a metal cracking ... on the front right side of the car (Passengers side) !! it only does it when I turn the wheel all the way to the left !
let me explain it a little bit better:
When I turn my wheel all the way to the left, the steering column makes a buzzing or screechy noise.
will anybody help ? I need help with this !!! geez.
don't worry about that sound when turning your wheel. its probably just a dead cat in your car waiting to be fully out of the system
I was changing the oil in one of my friends cars and I found a dead rat....yeah gross. my car feels like it's cought on something when I turn the wheel hard at slow speed's...like when I'm turning into a parking spot but I have never had any issue with it. Does the noise come from one side or does it come from both? I don't think that is't the tires if it's only coming from one side.

Check to see if your power steering is leaking and/or if the power steering belt is worn.

yea, I'd check for low PS fluid levels. There is only one belt in the RSX, and its goes over all the pullies

NO LEAKS WHAT SO EVER... belt is great ... the PS fluid level is great.. still don't know what the heck is causing that noise... I'm afraid one day I'm going to take a regular curve.. and the front left wheel will keep going straight by it self lol
Have you checked the CV joints. It doesn't sound like it from your description of the noise but it could be a bad CV joint. Check the boot to see if its torn.

that's what I'm thinking it may be... a CV join... hope NOT :run:
