street tuning gone bad HELP!!!

okay so i was out doing some datalogging and tuning with kpro just adjusting fuel and ignition. the last run i did i went to 8500 rpms and shifted into neutral and my car died. so i started it up again and drove it home. anytime i go into neutral the car dies on me.

i notice that there is a knocking sort of sound driving home around 3k rpms which is very audible not the normal knock sound that is tuned out. i get home pop the hood something smells burnt.

i assume something got messed up because my motor was knocking a lot during high rpms, i have attached the last two cals and datalogs i did showing how bad a tuner i am and more importantly where the motor knocked.

what could be wrong? i do not have a cel but they may be because of kpro? ( i have OBDII disabled) would the error codes come up on kpro or would i have to go to autozone to check them out?

so what do i do? compression and leakdown test maybe?

any insight is appreciated i am anticipating the worse, i know i could have searched and found some answers but im just really worried so i made a thread first, and i know im an idiot, thanks and sorry if the info above is sloppy im in a hurry and gtg

your car knocked like crazy on that last run...i say throw in the towel, you have rod knock my friend

things to check, compression and leakdown....but

nothing can be wrong with the compression or leakdown and you can still have rod knock, so an audiable test is key..

if you have rod knock or any other debi say from pistons in the engine, the engine will need a complete tear down for inspection and CLEANING(to remove all metal that circulated in the oil system

a cheap way to check this is to pull of the vtec solenoid and check for metal shavings in the filter, another way is to pull off the vtc oil strainer on the front of the head and check its filter, if there is metal in those filters, game over

damn. i expected the worse, but thanks for chiming in daniel i really appreciate it, uh is it fairly easy to pull off the vtec solenoid and the vtc oil strainer? if not anyway i could pay you to come do it lol or am i just better off taking it to the dealership? thanks a bunch for your help
if you do a tear down or check the way daniel said.. would you mind taking pics so we can see this and know what to do.. and sorry about your car man.. sucks

btw why dont you ask Ksmatic (kevin) to help you out.. he has done this on his setup and he might be able to give you a good detailed help

yeah i can take pics for sure i know it will probably be able to help people out in the future, yeah i will probably ask kevin also since he is closer to me, i also posted this on dc5nation and kevin said it sounded like the fuel pump or injector problem to him. i am expecting the worse (a complete rebuild) but hoping for something not too bad haha

b4 you assume, do all the checks first...i just stated what it could be, the true results have yet to be seen

and yea i could do it all if you'd like, way cheaper than the dealer if they were to try to charge you and also under my own warranty:D
BLAH!!!

81 knocks!

Wat happened :noes:

after 1 knock ur supposed to shut her down and pull ignition...not keep going

yeah I know I'm stupid, but I saw other people's full 3rd gear pulls with a some knocking so I thought you are suppose to just finish the run and then pull ignition guess not huh. The first datalog was the first time datalogging 8k+ rpms where i got that knock and retarded ignition everywhere I knocked. The next datalog shows a tremendous increase in knock from the previous datalog in different areas why idk but im starting to think whatever went wrong happened in the first run and doing the next run just made it worse.

But the point is yes im stupid.

yeah im in cali, but i think the 80+ knocks came from the rod knocking which was probably caused by the few knocks i had on the previous datalog @ 8000+ rpms :(
omfg

81 knocks? are. you. serious?

I wouldn't want my engine after that
