Not sure if this has been covered before but I changed out the radiator in my car with an aftermarket one when my old one burst. I replaced the thermostat as well now when out to make a test pass my when I accelerate my temperature drops down to about 140 amd returns to normal once I let off. Anyone have this problem before or know whats causing it
The rapid cooling? Absolutely. They’ve got twice as much surface area than stock, and the end tanks aren’t made of plastic. A drop as drastic as the OP mentioned though? That’s unlikely. The coolant temp will rise back to normal quickly as long as your oil is up to temp.
I am having that same problem in my k24 integra since I have had the new alum rad in. I have burped/replaced therm/ changed coolant multiple times. I notice it more when cold. Covering with cardboard did help a bit but still could not get up to op temp when on the freeway.
