I just got my hands on the press kit for the new 2003 Accord.....guess what....5W-20 oil for both the 4-banger and the V6.

Guess the RSX was just the start.

I stand by my old opinion.

They are just doing it for that extra mpg to get class leading fuel economy, etc, etc.
Running an 8000rpm car with 20 weight oil? I think not. Not if you ever want to go to those higher rpms.

Most Honda's spin pretty high, I'm not sure what the Accord's powerbands will be like, but you can bet that peak power is going to be happily above 5000rpm, as usual.

the mechanic I talked to agrees with your view... that the only reason they put that light an oil is for fuel economy purpose...
