Well went to the track friday. This made it my 3rd trip to the track in the R and the first since all of these new mods (JDM header, SMSP cat, 9lb fly, ACT XTSS clutch, and new tires). Old mods were only i/e. We took vids but ill have to put them up tues. when i get to work.

First I lowered the tire pressure down to 23 psi. and revved 5,500, I didnt slip the clutch very well and got some mad wheel hop (my radar detector FLEW off my windsheild)

First run:
60': 2.319
330: 6.289
1/8: 9.524
MPH: 75.83
1000: 12.317
1/4: 14.697
MPH: 93.76

2nd run (tried launching higher around 6,500, still got mad wheel hop, but i dont know how, but this was my best for the night 1/4mi time wise, maybe it was my negative R/T of -.163 :p ):
60': 2.416
330: 6.291
1/8: 9.511
MPH: 76.07
1000: 12.295
1/4: 14.671
MPH: 94.01

3rd run isnt worth listing, i raised the tire pressure back to 35 psi just to see what would happen and ran a 14.9, with a 60' of 2.5

4th run was my best 60' of the night, and still sucked ass. Lowered the press. down to 20psi and I launched around 6,000, slipped the clutch, but then it bogged down to 4,500. I guess I should have slipped it longer.

5th run was my best trap of the night (I had added a gallon of 100 octane into the mix, I was fixing to run out of gas)

6th run i pulled a 2.299 60', but still only ran a [email protected], oh well.

I weighed in at 2495 w/o me in the car. Next time Ill just have to slip the clutch longer :( Considering my average last time i was at the track was like a 15.3 these mods have really helped...but on the other hand I ran a [email protected] with only and intake. But then it was about 30 degrees cooler and the humidity wasnt a 10th of what it was Fri.

Was this at Silver Dollar or Commerce?

I was about to say, don't expect much from Commerce. The elevation there is hella high, so everyone's ETs are a bit higher than what they run at Silver Dollar.

JTSmith broke 13s at Silver Dollar this weekend though :thumbsup:

yeah there were also two RSXs there...

One was a blue one, Type R headlight, and he said he ONLY had i/e and was running a 14.5, I didnt see the time slip though.

There was another guy there with a white RSX...he had to have had i/e/and hondata b/c he ran a 14.1.

Gotta work on those launches... does your car need plugs or a tuneup or anything? Cuz your traps are kinda low for a Type R

i have new plugs, and changed my oil the night before the track. I think my traps were low b/c of the tire pressure. Im going to keep them at 35 psi and slip the clutch more

I used 22psi in the GS-R when I run and get 2.2 60' times, and still trap 93-94mph. I wouldn't run any higher than 25psi at the track, or it'll be wheelspin/hop city

lower tire presure to about 22psi and rev the damn thing. get the revs no lower than 6500 at the launch. ride the clutch out the ACT will hold it. you should be doin low 14's high 13's on true street tires....I did 2.1 60fts all motor with falken ZE512's

my guess is you need to shift faster with your new flywheel.

look at your 330' times. basically what you are doing is screwing up your 1-2 shift. thats why you could get a good 60' and bad ET. car looks fine though and shows some potential. seems like something else is weird though cause your trap speed is kinda low.

liek I always say use 18 psi, and work on your shifting! good luck!

You need some DR's, so you can hit some 2.0's. :)

I would even get 2.2's on my 4 seasons at 20 psi.

1st run, tires set @ 32 psi and stayed there the whole night

best run of the night was my last I had been launched around 5,500-6,000 again, but stepped it up to 6,500. Remember my VTEC engages @ 5,500. This time it only bogged to 5,000.

So slight improvement, mostly b/c of the higher tire pressure than last time. Besides launching, my main problem seemed to be shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear, where I experienced some mad fucking wheel hop. I think Ill go back soon and just rev the bitch to 7,500 and slip the fuck out of the clutch. :driving:

if you do that you WILL go low 14's to high 13's and should get to the 2.1 60ft range

lost the old SN when the new board came up. anyway yeah about that. as you let the clutch out try to hold it at about 7k rpm(let it fall 500rpm) us throttle modulation to keep it there. as the car gets to speed fully release it and be ready to shift fast cause 8400 will come real quick
