If you are wanting to do the same colour and the paint is in good condition (no rust, rock chips, or scratches to the paint) you could save a lot of money by just re doing the clear coat, and leaving the old paint. Definitely do your research on it however as I'm no expert.Hey,
I have a 2005 rsx type s in vivid blue pearl. I love my car, and dont intend on ever getting rid of it. Car clearcoat has faded, it's an eyesore to me everyday. I have never repainted a car before, so I had it quoted around a few shops in temecula in so cal. One shops quoted me 7500 to repaint the same color with supposed life time warranty and to fill in factory holes from the stock spoiler. Does include some dent removal on driver side rear quarter panel. I also went to Maico and the quoted me 4100 for a similar job. Anyone have experiences with repainting their car? Prices too high? Any input or suggestions is highly appreciated and welcomed.
You can get axalta's Cromax EZ and paint it yourself. I painted my rsx in my garage and it came out flawless. Just put in the time and effort. $5000k+ at shops when you can spend about $2k in products AND parts. Only took me 2 quarts to repaint same color.I have thought about it and have done the research. There are chips in the paint down to the metal where it's starting to rust and rear quarter panel needs a dent removed. When I wash and dry the front of car, the rags have blue streaks from the paint coming off. Worried it's too far past saving.
