just a header won't help much, maybe a race header but only a lil. Don't get a vtec controller, chances are you srcew it up. Hondata the only choice.
Is it a Tsi or a Esi turbo'd
Tsi stock have about 210 at the crank, Type S stock have 200 at the crank
The Tsi also weight 3200lbs, type S weights 2700lb (roughly)
You are making about 180 at the wheels w/ CAI and exhuast, a shorty header may bump that up .1, a race header may bump it up to mid 180s.
Tsi with aftermarket turbo (garret 16G or t-28?) makes about 210-220whp virtually un-tuned, tuned with the right injectors and pumps maybe 250.
Just so you know I raced two talons
1. Tsi fwd (w/ intake and cat-back + BOV) I raced him from a dig. He wasn't the best driver and spun too much tire off the launch so I had about a car length lead through out 1st and 2nd. After 3rd I started pulling slightly.
I raced him again at a 40 mph roll. I was in second and at the 3rd honk I matched rpms and dropped the clutch. I spun briefly and even though I had the jump he pulled about a fender through 2nd. Through 3rd he stayed about a fender ahead of me. At the end of 4th I closed the gap and it was about even (he had a slight lead).
2. Tsi AWD (w/ AFC, 3" catback, intake, turbo pipe, BOV and ic piping) I raced him from a dig. I launched low at 3k to get traction early but it didn't help. He had a 2 car lead by the time I hit 2nd. In 2nd he pulled again slightly to about 2 1/2 car lengths. Through 3rd he kept his lead and we shut it down.
I also raced him from a 10mph roll (to take away his launch because the road wasn't long enough to drag out 4th). We hit it at the 3rd beep and I got a jump because he bogged slightly. I pulled a car length and stayed there the entire race (until 3rd and we shut it down)
My car 03 RSX type S (w/ CAI, Shorty header + catback)
