This subject is been vastly covered in this forum, you should really search before you start a thread like this.

You can get an adaptor pipe for it or have a muffler shop weld one on for you

:deadhorse
or have a type-s header
yeah i kno i just found it. it said you can get a type s header too
do shorty headers count
only if you get a Type S cat or Type S test pipe.
only if you get a Type S cat or Type S test pipe.
what about a universal cat
search!!!!!!! lol
From what I know:

Header all the way to muffler= Type s parts = can bolt onto k20a3(base)
cannot combine type s parts with base
so if your "universal" cat fits a type s header/exhaust your good to go
get a type s header+cat, and good to go.
the base and type-s cat and catback are different lengths than the base, different shapes maybe too (where they mate)

The headers/manifolds are different too, primarily in the outlet diameter, I believe.

Of course a univeral cat would work - it has to be custom welded to fit any exhaust, since it's just a cat without any piping or minimal piping. Hence its universality.
you need a type s header and cat back and it will be fine!!
header to exhaust tip, for it to fit a base.

/thread nub
