I got a great deal on an unused Venom VCN-2000 kit made for a 96-2001 Civic. Unfortunately, the install instructions (particuarly the wiring and software) is about useless.

I called Python, and they want me to go through the original salesperson??? Does anyone know how the hell I can get the updates/instructions I need to get this up and running?

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Sorry, cant help you there.

But went to the web page for your rsx. nice car. The red on the door panels looks PS'd? :dontknow:
There is one photo floating around that was a PS mockup of how the doors and seats were supposed to look (it took several times to get the colors on the pattern right, long story). The pic on onlineshowoff.com is the real door, though...

Halfway there... still running wiring. Got the instructions from Venom, and turns out all I needed was an additional O2 sensor.

Flushmounted the LCD readout in the console, extended the wiring on the switches to under the steering column. Was gonna go stealth-like under the hood, but the venom sticker matched the color scheme :)

That looks great, bro. Very clean install. BTW, can you even see the Venom LCD monitor? It looks difficult to see unles you are driving all ghetto stylie.

Also, The interior pic above looks much better than the one on the web-site.

One of the perks to being a short bastard :)

Yeah, just glancing down you can read the display - the switches above it aren't really visible when sitting (they're for the seat heaters).

*applauds*

I salute you, you son of a bitch. :firemad:

How am I supposed to outdo this!? I mean that's not even a matter of money.. the 2000 kit just outclasses my ueber NX setup.

...perhaps that Buddy Club piggy back A/F/i-VTEC computer. :dontknow:

Way to go!

It's all your fault - it was the 100 shot you were doing that set me in motion :spin:. I was debating on whether or not to go on the bottle, when I saw your 100 shot posts. I figured "if he can do 100, I'm safe with 60"...

It should be interesting to see how the VCN-2000 works in conjunction with the Venom 400 unit I got at the same time... fortunately, the 400 stays all hidden away.

Oh - routing lines up front. Driver's side fenderwell, where the hood latch cable runs. Big-ass grommet there with some wiring in it. Gobs of extra room for the braided line and related wiring. Much easier than the huge harness grommet by the gas pedal. Makes it easier to hide, too, and everything's under the splash shield.

Actually, the car's in pieces right now. Hopefully finishing the wiring tonight, and I've got the kit off getting resprayed (had a prob with the clearcoat blushing - was too damn humid the day we painted). I'm also replacing the seatbacks to correct a panel that was the wrong color (the red was supposed to go up to the plastic piece in the headrest, not stop halfway). Car probably won't be back on the road till Saturday... :(

Any tips on what I should start spraying with on this kit?

I don't know if this would work, but is it possible to put the screen at a 30 degree angle in the back of the tray (above te cup holders) and then flush mount the switch at the same angle, so when you pull the tray open its built in the back of the tray? well im going to talk to some poeple and see if someone can do that...welll give me your input guys...

That's very doable.

You just need to watch the wiring behind the tray - we used the tray to mount our XM radio control (Alpine) and the cupholder area to custom mount the controller ports and power/eject buttons for the XBox.

The tray area is not deep at all (maybe 5/8") - the visible bottom is pretty much all the depth you have to work with. In order to mount the display, you're going to have to remove it from the metal housing it comes in and resolder 3 or 4 wires (I forget the exact number I had to do).
