How come all the top sidewinder manifolds have the waste gate flange at 90, when all the companies and turbo heads say it should be mounted closer to 45?

Ideally you would have a wastegate at even less than 45 degrees. That's just a rough angle that they give you so it's easy to understand. The reason the angle on sidewinder manifolds is so aggressive is because there is no other way to do it. This is by far the most ideal boost control setup, essentially 0 degrees of angle.
