What are your experiences with different tranny fluids?

I know there are a shit-load of threads on this, but there isnt a recent one that covers all of the fluids that I am looking at. I just want some opinions.

I am about to switch from honda's fluid to a different kind. My 2nd and 3rd gear grind a couple of times a week, even though I have had the 2-3 synchro replaced.

I think it will help a little bit, I already have a a BC short-shifter, sk2 knob and all aluminum bushings from strut-king.

What kind of tranny fluids have you used and what are your thoughts on them?

EDIT: OHHH, and what kind of grease/lube is the BEST for lubricating the shifter/ball joint? My mechanic gave me some good stuff, but he doesnt have any big experience with the honda 6spd trannies.

I respect your opinion b/c youre from cali....

yeah, right now its between redline and amsoil.....
bump, i need some opinions!!!

REDLINE OR AMSOIL?!?
bump
i used redline and my tranny shifted like butter right after. even (temporarily) took away the 2nd-3rd tranny issue. Then my Acura dealer replaced my synchros and re-filled the car with OEM tranny fluid. It sucks.
I say use redline but my experience was short & sweet.
i used redline. it is good. the only con i have to say is that, if the tranny is cold then you will have 2nd gear grind/notchy. however, after the fluid warmed up it shift really nice and at redline it is even better!
thanks for the replies guys.

redline 2, amsoil 0

Moar, opinions!:iptf:
not sure if you wanted to hear about non redline/amsoil but I use royal purple. That's pretty good as the gears shift really smoothly for around 20-25k. After that you gotta change.
ive had my redline in there for 30+k and i track the car. no problems hot or cold.

i guess i cant count redline again lol

I haven't tried redline, so it could be great, it just don't know.

Amsoil worked great for me.
I've tried both redline and Amsoil. Both are great but I choose Amsoil because it's easier for me to get.
i am currently using AC Delco. got it from a GM dealer. at first it was still notchy and grinding. after 50kms or so. it shifts soooo smooth and no more 3rd gear pop out.
I use Motul...it sure as heck keeps up with all my autocross and track that I do. I don't have 2nd gear grind but i do have that 3rd gear wall issue...but no tranny fluid will fix that (need to replace 3rd gear completely).

Have had 3rd replaced, so maybe I'll try that. My local Napa doesnt carry Redline MTF.
I went from Honda MTF to Amsoil MTF. I will never look back. Amsoil has been near perfect in the last month. Honda still made my 3rd grind, but since adding Amsoil haven't had any issues.
i've always used honda mtf. changed mtf every other oil change.

it's worked great on two trannies. no grinding or popping out.

(i "upgraded" to a itr tranny)
i have amsoil right now and still having grinding issues especially on the 2nd gear. ill try redline next time
i had amsoil for about 10k miles, then switched to honda when i did clutch/flywheel install. felt like crap after 4 months of driving. gears kept crunching. now back to amsoil and so far so good. never tried anything else besides amsoil & honda
