it just so happens my clutch goes out right then and now when there aint no F*CKING clutches to be found on clubrsx or anywhere for that matter. WHERE ARE THEY!

can someone help me get a clutch and flywheel as soon as possible? sorry if im being rude and not doing a search stuff.

but i'm uber pissed at the situation and life doesn't seem to get any better especially after so much shiz has been happening to my family and friends.

and now the RSX is acting up. ahhhhhh so frutrated :jigglemad

I'm in the same boat you are. My Clutch, and cluth bearing, and all those other nice little expensive parts are impacted in my car (with only 21,000 miles) the Acura Dealership wont touch my car anymore since I put an intake on it (so I added more) so i'm screwed for a bit.

They should not refuse to touch your car. It's still under warranty and unless you replaced the clutch with an aftermarket one, then they should, by law, be required to replace it.

What was the reasoning that they gave?

"Added HP to the car can cause premature wear and tear on the stock clutch since it was only designed to handle the 200HP" I've actually heard this excuse mentioned before on this site!!!! So they can "deny" your warranty claim if you have any power adders.

Well, I guess I'll have to get a clutch that can handle more than 200HP! I guess to get away with it, I would replace the intake with the stock box and then take it to the dealer.

A clutch is wear item. They wouldn't cover that anyway. It's like going to them for tires or gas. Unless the clutch detonated itself then you are on your own. They will replace it if you pay for it.
I would think that a clutch is not considered a "wear" item after only 21k miles! Breaks and pads I understand, but a clutch? I would think they would replace it since it is still under warranty. I'll have to read up on what's covered then.

That's the exact reasoning they gave me. They said the added HP damaged the clutch. I dont know what i'm going to do about the Clutch Bearing though. :dontknow:

extra HP damaged the clutch? wtf, stupid acura dealers.

you could just tell them that it barely adds 2hp like all the other hondas.

Yep that's what you get for buying the best. Just like their header....3 X's the price of a DC, is it 3x's more power......NO! And what about their cams, 2X's + the cost of ITR cams......do they give 2 x's the power? No, try 6-7. You might as well get the mugen airbox for double the cost of the comptech box for no more power while your at it. :)

I don't know what you guys are doing to your clutches but it should no way no how give up at 20,000 miles. I drive my car hard as shit, I put over 50 5000rpm launches on my stock clutch and speed shift all the time and at 32,000 the clutch was not even slipping. I only changed it because I told wifey that the car had to much power and I needed clutch /LSD etc.

yeah, my clutch went out at 70,000k. like almost exactly lol.

the stock clutch i used to drag race launching at 5500 rpms, road raced 3 time's, drove hard daily, burnouts, burnouts, burnouts... and im tellin you, i've done it well over 150 launches in the span of 2 and 1/2 years.

AND it only gave up after i put on the dc race header. stock clutches are great! i don't know why some people's are so weak. i must be lucky to not have one of those lemon clutches.

These days it actually depends on the company. See what the company makes and what it can do. You can't judge quality by where it's made anymore. Japanese have their pluses but then they also have their bads. Hondata is an American company and they make great products. You also have Comptech as well. Also, we all know the RSX isn't perfect either, so quit trying to make it like Japanese products are superior to all other.
