Get some 3M rubbing compound. Apply a little bit to micro fiber cloth and buff it in. Best stuff to take out swirl marks and scrapes.

You will really find it difficult to remove by hand because you'll be using coarser products.

Generally a wax/one-step product with fillers that hides swirls is more effective than hand removal.

I'd recommend you get a professional, or buy or rent a buffer before you try it by hand.

As for products, there's a newbie thread of recommended products. There's no real "best", depends on what you like in a product.
