The next State Meet will be co-hosted by Austin and San Antonio and will happen in March of 2009.

Obviously, that is some time away, so I am going to ask Kevin to lock this thread. We will open a new one in January. I think that nobody will have time to work on it over the holidays. We (Austin) have bounced some ideas around and so has SA. Here is the tentative plan and the meet will be on a Saturday.

1.) Meet and the well-known 360 Bridge spot in Austin. Meet-&-Greet, photos, etc.
2.) Cruise through the Hill Country to some destination near San Antonio.
3.) End up in SA for early dinner at some restaurant.

We really want to make this an event, so are going to try some new ideas.

1.) Like we have done with Kabe and Strutking in the past, get sponsors involved and raffle off some prizes.
2.) There will be T-shirts.
3.) In Austin, have a parts swap meet/flea market at the 360 bridge location. If any of you are like me, you have lots of parts that just collect dust and that someone else might need. Bring out what you have and trade/sell for cash.
4.) Possibly make it a track night at SA Raceway in the evening.

Anyway, thanks for voting and we will get the ball rolling again in January.

I think a joint meet/all-southeast meet would be awesome.
im down for wherever
If a Lake Charles meet dosn't happen, I'll be willing to help plan an Austin/Central Texas meet.

I was just looking at Mapquest and Lake Charles is farther than I thought. The bias of the drive would be on the Dallas and San Antonio people. Perhaps Austin is the better option. Please still discuss.
austin sounds really good
i better get to practicing my wsop 07 game on wii :pimp
lake charles is like 5 hours
Lake Charles sounds cool, but yall know that half the people that put there name on the roll call don't show up. That will suck for the people involved in planning the meet.

The ideal situation in my opinion is that one need not drive more than 3 hours, since anything more than that makes it a mandatory overnight trip, which increases the cost. In other words, you should be able to get up that morning, drive to the meet, then be home that night if you choose. Does that make sense?
Loza's place.
worst part to lake charles i think would be from houston to lake charles going thru baytown.. roads pretty shitty.
