I'm having the same problem as well

 

Its quite odd , I have an 03 and i have the same issue, i was wondering how to reset it.

 

3 people with the same problem? Anyone know the solution to this? lol

 

i've had this problem before...the dealership fixed it free of charge at the time (within warranty also)

Here's a thread documenting how to temporarily fix it. I haven't tried it yet, but a lot of people have with success

From my understanding, it happens when something is left on the passenger seat. For example, a laptop. Or it could happen for apparently no reason

i too had the same issue and the OPDS unit and sensor were replaced under warranty, that specific issue is extended to 100k miles...

 

How do you know this?

It might be that the srs module went bad. My crapped out on me and it was replaced under warranty.

I may just take my car into the dealership just to have them check it out and replace it since i'm selling my car. I don't want any problems with the car to the next owner.

i have the same problem too... if i had a jacket or something on the passenger seat and it was too close to the door/side air bag, the light would go off and on. now it just stays on...

I think others have, it shouldn't really be an issue getting it done for free.

 

well thanks for the info. going to take it in when i have time, lets see what happens.

 

shouldn't be an issue really. First time I went there they wanted to "hold" 90-ish dollars for diagnosis fee, I said no and left. Went back another day and talk to another service rep or whatever, he just took the car in and went to work on it no problem. I actually still need to take the car back because the problem isn't fixed. I may need a new SRS brain unit, whatever it's called. I don't know. but I gotta take it in again. probably call and make an appointment for friday.

 

if for any reason this dealership denies me, ill just take a drive out that way.

 

not sure if this was mentioned but due to safety, doesn't the dealership HAVE to cover this? warranty or not?

 

I heard from a Honda Tech. that they DO have to cover this, free of charge.

i study in mecanik auto ..i got a 2002 rsx-s and the light is on too...But when i check on acura bulletin they is a RACALL on it srs recall they your dealer they hav a recall for srs they should repair for you for free

acura never does recalls, only technical service bulletins. Which basically means they acknowledge the problem but still aren't specifically obligated to do anything about it.

well technically if I ever take my car back, I've resolved the problem by going to the dealer. They just have to find the problem systematically.

 

so yours was fixed free of charge? it looks like it depends on lucking out and having the dealership cover it i guess.
