Front Camber Kit Question

I upgraded to Tein coilovers from drop springs / stock struts over the weekend. I also added SPC camber kits, front and rear. The rear was no problem, but how are the front bolts supposed to go in? Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I can't seem to push the bolts all the way through. They get caught up where the cam is, and no amount of wiggling the hub around seems to make a difference. Do I just need to keep wiggling until they go in?

EDIT: Also, does it make any difference at all which way the bolts face? The shop manual says to face them in a certain way, but it seems like it would be better to face the side with the adjuster tab opposite the side of the shock that has the brackets for the brake lines for ease of adjustment.

Thanks! Maybe I just didn't mess with it enough. I'll give it another go this weekend.

And yeah, I wouldn't think that the direction of the bolts makes any difference, so I guess I'll just assume I'm good on that.

the set I have came with 2 of the washers for each bolt, not 1 washer and 1 square washer like your kit. the small squared off tab goes against/under the cam and the angled bent pointy part goes away from the cam, so you can rotate it 180* side to side. out of the box they were not oriented right so I had to fix that when installing. they take a bit of jiggling and having the lower bolt loose helps. from what i read, the orientation of the bent pointy part of the washer/s determines where the cam adjusts the upper bolt hole. if you point the tab towards the engine, you will get more negative camber and the more you point it outward, the more positive camber. so if you are lowered, you would want the pointy tab more to the outside of the car and rotate the cam to get the tire into spec. good luck

Yeah, I've got all of the tabs oriented correctly. I probably just didn't jiggle it around sufficiently. I will give it another go this weekend and I will make sure the bottom bolt is loosened as well. That might have been the problem. Thanks for the help.

That depends on your suspension, tires, sway bars, and your ability as a driver. To be honest, anything other than oem specs is an improvement. I run -1.2° up front with 1/32” toe out, -.6° in the rear with 1/32” toe in.

I’m on a spec suspension with an ITR rear sway bar. I did one autox event so I can’t tell you much other than I felt very comfortable. I did manage to induce oversteer on one turn, but it otherwise remains neutral on the street, until it rains. Check out these threads below to get a better idea. That first one is really all you need to read.
The arms are adjusted when you get an alignment, so I don’t quite understand your last question. You should only be adjusting them if you’re doing the alignment yourself.
