My original 240,000 mile type S seats have various tears in the leather and stitching on both seats. Had a huge rip on the passenger seat from the pressure of my elbow and hand when I was working on various ac parts behind the glove box. Driver bottom seat had ripped stitching, making the seat sag as you sit in it. After dealing with these major tears for 2+ years and them only getting worse, I decided to get the seats re-covered.

After looking at various aftermarket seats I decided to stick with oem.

I located a company named : www. leatherseats.com

No matter what option I went with it was going to be expensive. Opted for the full leather seat kit for the front seats only, black leather + silver stitching. Rear seats never see any use and they still look new. I've seen examples in the s2000 and nsx, both looked like oem fitment, but never saw an example from the rsx.

I'm very picky about fitment and I'll say I was more than impressed with how they feel and look. And I'm sure it's unintentional, but the black foam lining underneath the leather has a sparkling effect to them that can be seen under the perforations under direct sunlight.

I did break one of the two bottom clips that hold the passenger seat headrest trim trying to put it back together. I took it off carefully but stupid me was trying to flex the plastic while reinstalling it because it kept unclipping. It's held by the other 2 clips but there's a gap in the pieces and I might find a used set of the price is right.

Took about 5-6 weeks to receive the leather kit after ordering. Overall, the cost and wait was worth it for me.

Edit:
Forgot to mention that both seats have a back pocket now and the passenger seat has the elastic strap that secures the seat belt buckle.

$1600. Yes this is a lot, and leather aftermarket seats would've cost me more with the price of decent adjustable seat rails. I commute a lot weekly, wanted to keep it as oem as possible.

I believe the rear bench would've been another $300-$400 more, probably easier to make compared to fronts because the fronts are considerably more expensive.

Do doubt those are a nice retro.

I made an offer on 2017 CTR seats with one airbag deply of $500. I would have to stitch the airbag cover back on. We will see what my guy says - he has two sets & one does not have an airbag deploy. If I knew what to do with front Brembo brakes on the CTR I would throw an offer on those too. But the CTR seats are beyond comfortable and give the impression of insane protection of the body in a severe accident. sorry for the off topic post.

SSSSSIIIICCCCKKK!!

Your seats look frigging sweet! Spending $1,600 maybe expensive to some but I look at it this way...you are sitting in the seat which should be comfortable and to your liking.

It is like cheaping out on a computer monitor that you will be staring at all day but you bought the biggest baddest computer.

OR buying a cheap a$$ pair of shoes you wear all of the time, but your feet should be comfortable also as you are on them all day.

Nice looking seats. I just got a pair out of a 2005 to put into my 2004. I was told I would need to switch out the airbags and seat buckles. Question is do you recall how the air bag cover came off? i took off the 2 white channel clips but the cover still will not budge.

Doubt Inthezone gonna answer, he wasn't on since 2022... I'd say if covers don't budget - take it to the shop to be safe
