DISCLAIMER: I AM A TOTAL NOOB AT THIS STUFF ITS ALL NEW TO ME

Okay, so I just imported a DC5 TYPE R from Japan and I want to do basic bolt on as well as install 2 step on the whip. Exhaust and stuff is easy for me.

However, I dont know how to get 2 Step on my car. All I know from my understanding is ECU chip from Hondata or something, plug it in my car and then computer and download something...then install it into the car.

My question is, how/where do I get the chip? What specific chip do I need? Whats the name for it? And is there a tutorial on the whole process somewhere?:dontknow:

Also, from what I read, Hondata doesn't ship outside of America and I am in Canada. Is there another way for me to get my hands on something like that?

THANKS EVERYONE IN ADVANCE!!!:fistbump:

Well Mr. noob, my first suggestion is to search as all of the info you're seeking is here on this forum. If you're planning on doing car shit, you should know how to do research.

You will not be getting an ECU chip, but a modified ECU (or you can have the ITR ECU modified) which will not only allow the use of 2 step, but will allow you to alter the tune and take advantage your future bolt ons as well (and any other modification you plan on down the road)

I'm assuming you're referring to a tutorial on the 2 step function? I haven't seen a DIY on here, but I've seen multiple threads explaining on how to set it up. Again, become familiar with the search function.

Hondata has authorized dealers in Canada, they do not sell directly.

I mean it’s unnecessary. I’m sure a vendor will do it, but I don’t see them doing it unless it’s specifically requested.

The TS literally just needs Kpro/ktuner and to read a few posts on here to figure it out. Giving a tuner $250+ just to set up his 2 step is throwing money out the window since he’s installing bolt ons down the road.
