Hey people I was wondering if I could get some help with something. I bought headlamps from ebay that were advertised as JDM Honda Integra Genuine look here . So when I get the lights they are DEPO :firemad: and don't have anything linking them to honda. The don't have the gunmetal reflectors, they have black plastic instead. Now he wants to charge 15% fee for restock when he miss advertised :jigglemad .Thanks

I agree he totally misrepresented the product...i mean, he says things like genuine repeatedly and never replica or JDM style or whatnot, can't you report his dealings to ebay? But for that price you had to know they probably weren't the real JDM DC5 headlights. I mean they go for the high 500's easy.

trust me I am pissed. But how do I go about disputing the charge through the credit card company? It has already been a couple of days
peeps thanks for all your help!
Ship the headlights back, after he accecpts them call your credit card company tell them he sent you fakes and you sent them back and he will not refund you...they will take care of it

Yeah I bought from the same dealer. Personally, I'm happy with the look. I think they look good. But you guys are right, that does constitute as false advertising.

report it to ebay.. even if u settle the dispute with the credit card, u can get a negative feedback from him.. if u report it to ebay, u won't get the negative feedback..

There's a process with eBay whereby you can dispute the sale. And as I recall, misadvertising the product is one of the qualifying events to get eBay involved. I can't recall actually what they do, but I think they might suspend him from eBay, try to go after him using the information they have collected, or something similar. But I know they do something. If you paid through Paypal, you also have recourse through them -- similar actions and complaint avenues. But like everyone said, if you paid with your credit card, call your bank and tell them the seller committed fraud and dispute the charge. If they're a good institution, they'll get their fraud department involved and investigate, especially given the high dollar figure. BUT, be prepared for a total lack of sympathy from them, since more and more of these unsecure transactions are taking place and more and more people are getting screwed.

Yeh, I mean...this guy is ridiculous. Either he's a damn fool and honestly thinks they're real JDMs or he's scamming you (which seems likely, given the fees he's asking you to pay to return them). Like I said, I'd report him to eBay and call your credit card company. But DO ship 'em back and at least see if he'll refund some of your money. Don't want to piss him off too much, b/c he might just then not give any of it back.

it's hard to find genuine jdm headlamps on ebay these days, if they don't say honda on them, they're fake. also on the honda ones, somewhere on the back they have markings that specify the bulbs. it says "us h1" "jp d2s" or something like that, and lists them both.

I had a similar problem before on ebay. for inauthentic merchandise, all you need to do is provide some kind of outside verification for your product--take it to your local speed shop, have them write a letter saying that it's a replica (this must be done on official store stationary), then follow the steps provided in the 'merchandise dispute' section. that's it. You'll get your money back in no time. GL.
