Return fuel systems?

Hey all...haven't posted in a while, btu I have a question here which has been troubling me for a while... My setup is as listed in my siggy.

Been feeling for sometime now that the potential of my setup isn't fully realise with the present tuning on my HKS FconSZ. Want to get the tuners to maybe advance the timing a little more so push out more power.

But they don't wanna do that unless I modify the existing returnless fuel system on the DC5_R and use a return system.

Anyone out there with experience in this? And can maybe help me make my decision? Cheers:)

Well, don't think just having a return fuel system will do anything for power, but at least it'll allow more aggressive tuning...

I really don't see how this would make a lick of difference with respect to advancing ignition timing. Am I missing something here?

i just ran another fuel line from the nipple at the bottom of the fpr on the itbs ran it under the car right next to the other lines all the way back to the tank, drilled a hole on the top of the pump housing then took a bolt bout 3 inches long drilled a hole on the top and then one through the middle just like the bolts on the brakes. we did it like that because i was in hurry to get it done and we couldnt find the right size at the store and we have a drill press so it was easy, then just slid the bolt throught the o ring side of the fuel line and dripped it into the top of the housing with a lock washer and bolt tightened it up and put it in.. there is a lil peice of hose ther becuase we snapped the line :( but that works fine..

Not that i know of. TWM says that for peak performance out of the ITBS you would want to use a fuel return system. WE were going to just eliminate it, but the highly discouraged us from that so we put it in. They said there is a higher risk of vapor lock without it, but that wont accur unless its super damn hot dont know the correct temp off hand but i dont see how that could happen so we just played it safe and did it. As far as tuning I have no clue what the kid is talking bout and how it would help. And i still want to know why he has a turbo timer in his car if he is doing all motor, unless he just likes to let it chill for a while and warm down. who knows.

My buddy has a fuel setup like that on a k20 Turbo (03) civic. Good stuff

Sorry for the tardy reply...

Same things happened month's ago when I first posted my setup. Nobody really believed what I did to my car until I posted up the photos. Anyway, the turbo timer is just there for the heck of it. Doesn't serve any purpose.

I'm not a DIY guy, so someone's gonna do this for me. As I understand it, they'd use a fuel rail and injectors and run fuel lines to and from the fuel tank at the back. Don't know the details yet.

And as I understand it, the fuel system on the K20A is returnless. So the amount of fuel supplied is exactly enough at a constant pressure. The apparent advantage of using a return fuel system allows more fuel to be supplied at a variable fuel pressure when it is required. Think this increases the safety margin, so the engine will never be starved of the fuel it requires.

Let me know what you think...

Oh, and, I don't appreciate being labelled a kid. I'm almost 30, and I'm not here to put my neck out for nothing. I need constructive opinions.

hey MbmC, im trying to figure out whether you are f/i or n/a...

anyways where did you get your f-con vpro from? where did you get it tuned?
Not the VPro...SZ. And yeah, Darkangel is right, from garage R. Think they're the only pro shop in town.

I'm running N/A. Turbo timer's for fun.

My car only dyno'd a 209 at the wheels recently. That's why all these concerns popped up. I'm wondering how much more can be squeezed out of the motor. The tuners feel that this is reasonable enough with reliability built in and an adequate safety margin.

Question is, how much is too much? and how do you know that?
