If it's the 9-3 code it is covered under the warranty and will be fixed for free. I had the same issue, they fixed it for free.
so i got the srs light of doom and i went to the acura dealer in Bakersfield and they told me that it was covered under the lifetime warranty but they wold charge me $160 to install the part. I asked them if i could just have the part and install it my self and they told me that they had to install it in order for the lifetime warranty to cover. Has anybody had this happen?
Did you get the 9-3 code? If so, it's supposed to be covered parts/labor, I had the same issue and mine was covered, I paid nothing. Regarding their install, sounds right, they can't let you install it for liability reasons, but it should be covered completely.

If there's another Acura dealer near you I'd try them. If you want to play hard ball then go to the first dealer who charged you and tell them it's supposed to be covered, parts/labor. Be aggressive about it. My car is modded balls to the wall and when I showed up they were like "you bet we'll fix it for you"
