Hello

I've been having an issue with my car, sometimes when i speed up over 55mph the steering wheels vibrates so strong and the entire car shakes, and i hear something knocks in front in the front right side i think.

The car used to be lowered with different wheels, now its at stock hight with original wheels.

I dont knw if its only a wheel balance issue or something else :(

usually that means you need an alignment. have you lowered or raised the car recently? changed wheels? gone over any big potholes? if you don't get an alignment afterwards, your car tends to do exactly that

yeah my car was lower and i raised it, i didn't change the wheels and i don't recall hitting any potholes, and i agree that it could be the alignment issue.

warped rotors
nah i don't think so :dontknow:

blown struts
my struts are new with less than 2k milage ( D2 Full Coilover kit )

does the vibration change turning left or right? or is it constant at 55
actually it does sometimes when i'm steering a bit to the right or left, the vibration increases .

Alignment issues usually don't cause vibrations. They generally cause left or right pull, and bad tread wear ie: feathering, or chopping of tread. Try moving your tires around. Switch fronts left to right an see if it changes the location of the vibration. It could be as simple as a tire separation. If it doesn't change, inspect the front end. Look for wet or leaking struts, bad ball joins or tie rods. The lower control arm bushing also take a lot of stress when this car is lowered.

I work at a tire shop. Vibration from alignment is unlikely, but the strut problem might be possible. But if it happens over 55+ mph then it is for sure the balance of your wheels. Get your wheels balanced and it will solve your problem.

i had same problem as the OP. shakes when accelerating up to 45-55 mph also when i apply my brakes at 55.

**for those ppl out there having the same problem. I have replace everything new, front rotors+pads, LCAs, tie rods(old one ripped), sway bar end links(old one ripped)+ an Alignment and the car/steering wheel still shaking. New ball joints and top strut mounts solved my problem. btw 210k miles on chassis :D
