I bought a set of MB Boosts last Fall from DT - since they were only ~ $300, I figured they were too cheap to pass up. Not much weight savings, if any, but I was also buying snow tires and I wanted two sets of rims to avoid swapping tires twice a year. Plus my OEMs were getting a little ratty looking, and I wanted a darker colour rim.
Today I was bitten by the Spring bug and went out and bought my first set of "plus" size tires - 225/50/16 Yoko s.drives. I know, still 16", I bought the rims with the intention of re-using my almost new stock size Michelin A/S. Plus I have a base, so I didn't want to increase my wheel weight. And, 16s were cheaper.
Now I'm wondering how much handling will improve by increasing the width of the tire only, and keeping the same tread height. :dontknow:
Of course, the s.drives also have a stickier rubber compound than the all-seasons.
