Is the pressure switch new as well? Pretty sure this CEL is specifically related to the switch rather than the solenoid. Also check if the vtc strainer is clogged. It’s on the left side of the head behind the PS pump.

By the way, it’s called a Vtec solenoid 😉

 

I replaced the whole unit, so the switch is also new. The screen on the old unit was clean. I cleared the code, went for a short ride and the problem and code are back. I’ll check the wire to the switch. Other than that I don’t know what to do next. Thanks.
