What’s up guys,
New to the forum, I just got my 06 Type S last week.
When I test drove the car everything seemed fine, I didn’t hear anything, or I chose not to hear it because I really wanted the car.....:vtec:
So over the course of this past week I’ve slowly been pinpointing little things that are wrong with the car, I’m trying to fix everything I can and get it up to par.
One thing I’ve noticed is that when I accelerate the car, in ANY of the gears, it’ll make a whistling sound. I’ve been doing lots of searching and people seem to say it’s “normal”. It does have an AEM short ram intake, but I’m not sure it would produce that kind of noise. If I press the gas very lightly it’ll stay quiet, if I press it more, it'll create the whistling, if I press down further and bottom out, it disappears. I can create the sound on demand if I choose to. I’ve been trying to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, but I haven’t really had much time to really take a good look under the hood. From everything I’ve been reading, people are saying it’s the intake, others say it’s possibly the belt, maybe a bad pulley, etc. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue before and can shed some light on it.
I’ll try to see if I can get a video of it. When I did the search I found other videos but their noises were not remotely close to the one my car is making.
