Have ran a few different ones and most suggest the CC stage4. Well, these only seem to last for me around a year or so. I am currently at the point to where I cant boost over 9psi or it slips. Not looking to spend 1k on a clutch right now...so any thoughts (other than CC stage4 and take it easy LOL).

Thanks

You might do better asking this in the transmission drive train section. But as far as options go if your making enough torque to slip a stg 4 then your only option left is the twin disc

You already put 5k on it? Holy crap! My car doesn't even have 1k since September! :D

I do drive it hard, so I guess this is the price to pay. I'll pick up another CC Stage4. The last clutch (pre-boost) was sprung and when it was removed, the springs fell out...weldments broke. Maybe manufacturer defect :dontknow:. So maybe a CC 4 unsprung?

Edit: I might just have to get the "Competition Clutch 'Stage 4' Clutch & Ultra Lightweight Flywheel" since I have a 5-speed tranny...Not sure which flywheel im running.

Is it possible to run the 5-speed tranny with a 6-speed flywheel? I didnt install my tranny so I didnt even think of that factor..

try clutchnet.com
btw, any of yall's cc stage 4, the clutch pedal sagging overtime?

Mine's still strong after two and a half years and two seperate dyno tuning days. I will definately replace it with another cc stage 4 when the time comes, but I still have no issues with this one slipping.

yall drive it daily in traffic?

I had the method of basically rev it up to like 2000 and let it out fast.

I tried to avoid slipping it as much as possible. It is a bitch to drive and if you were going to commute in stop/go I would NEVER suggest it. You would be getting hip/knee replacement in 5 years lol.

That being said, I put 25k on my CC4 sprung and recently removed it to go back to stock, the clutch was barely worn. I even took it to the flashlight drags twice. It's probably your best bet before you goto a twin disc.

wow i guess im not the only that has trouble w the cc4 off the line too. It shakes the car like no other unless you rev up to 2k or drop the clutch really fast and since i live in CA, let me tell ya its not fun driving in traffic with that.

I barely have 5k on the clutch but the pedal feel has gone way too soft and it grips up top now. It feels likes its already failing me lol i hope it'll last at-least 30k. The funny thing is I don't even drive it hard or lunch the car.

I really miss the stock clutch. It lasted me up to 60k miles and I been on boost since 23k. lol

Has anyone tried the Carbonetic Clutches that Geoff mentioned? :dontknow: He highly recommended them but it seems no one has yet to give them a try, but he says they have a smoother engagement and last longer compared to the standard AM clutches...

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=523948

carbonetic clutches and differentials -- we started using carbonetic clutches on all our high power cars in the past year (my R14, our drift S14 on the cover of DSport, all the supras we build, evos, etc). The issue we've had in the past is that many of the twin and triple plate clutches weve used are so harsh on the engagement that they are prematurely wearing out syncros and wasting trannies/gearsets. Since using carbonetic clutches we've found the trannies to last much longer, and the clutches are much more pleasant to drive. We were so pleased with them, Ive been BEGGING carbonetics to release a multi plate K series clutch... and they finally have!! i got some photos from the show ill post later (havent downloaded the pics off my camera yet) but they are insane. Also, their diffs are suuuuper nice. worth checking out for anyone considering a multiplate clutch or an LSD (considering quaife's are now next to impossible to get)
i got in touch with carbonetics today, and had them send over some detailed pics of the k series twin disc and triple disc clutches

looks good! I might try them when I go Full-Race after college is done. How do they feel in comparison to CC Stage 4? Any additional detailed specs you can dig up?

Has anyone else on CRSX tried them yet?
it looks like the carbonetic twin is about 30% more expensive than competition clutch twin. i think msrp is $1980, ill have eric see if we can do a clubrsx special on them?

twins are available now, triple is in development not yet ready for production

the competition clutch stg 4 is a completely different clutch. single disc, stamped steel pressure plate, uses the stock style flywheel. much more street friendly and works great for a daily driver up to 550whp.

the competition clutch twindisc is a good race style clutch which is pretty affordable, holds a LOT of power, but is pretty harsh on the driveline. highly recommended to upgrade your gears with a clutch like this. cnc machined billet pressure plate, cromoly flywheel included.

the carbonetic twin is intended to be a step up from the competition twin. It is a carbon carbon construction so it has smoother engagement, and as it heats up it can hold more and more power the hotter it gets. cromo flywheel included and billet aluminum pressure plate too.

weve installed a lot of carbonetics in the nissans here (skylines, silvias, G35s) and some supras, with excellent results. By far my favorite clutch for a high power build that i dont want to sacrifice driveability with like an HKS triple (worst 2jz clutch ive ever used). Have not installed any K series yet
