Oh there is this chart too, from the K-pro presentation PDF file of their powerpoint. (So yeah, looks like there's nothing to worry about below 2200rpm!) I imagine it was done with a K20A2 and had the PRB cams. I wonder if the K20Z1 PRC cams would profit even more...

Sorry to hijack thread but I thought it was worth a small discussion, lol. And we've got good people in here! :laughing:
note: I hope this isn't referring to some ITR air intake cuz the previous two slides compared the IM's
 
Yes k20z1 has more potentiAl.
Some even claim k20z1 identical as itr cams... But there is lot of mix review.... I see lot of members going with 05-06 tsx. Cam. .and always there's why the hell you add another factory part and call that a gain...... Or mod....
Simple answer..... Cheaper alternative and good marginal gains... And oem quality and realibity.....

Sometimes id wished id purchased the 2.2 cams but that wouldve required a valve train swap...

By the way...skunk2 just came out with a drop in cam...
 
No need to thank us... We are all here to share what we can..
But most of stuff we learn is also through k20.org.... There. It's just all hardcore.no b.s guys.... Most are weekend track guys.....etc.... Even guys who grind own cams etc....

me too! I figured dual was more reliable but probably has more weight so how can it rev higher/faster/better? But then I thought maybe the different spring rates within the valve spring might cancel out any float/bounce until a much higher rpm?... I try not to think about it... :run:
 
My opinion on drop in cams..
I bet they copy off of type r cams, and tweek around....that goes for all manufacture...
Hond R &D spend a lot od hour in research to achieve the reputation to put in their R badge......
But at same type type r is a daily commute friendly. Engine....
That's why they can't go all out in cam specs.....
And this is where the others take over.....and $$$$ pocket for themself...
 
Track record wise drag cartel ahead of skunk2..
Heard many rumors or not ... That skunk2 were reground cams....,,... Hard to believe. Anything now days..

Just rest assure. U have. One of the best drop in cams....!!

Yeah i have the OBX v2 4 2 1 rave header...great performance...probably only thing id buy again from OBX
 
You should focus on strengthening. U tranny....no need to go all out and get like stage 3 clutch..... Our car won't even see that much TQ..... Stage 1 clutch master fx100 is just perfect for daily drive.... And seek out the type r flywheel......
There are many lighter flywheel... But type r is just the perfect weight. And quality is unbeatable.......
Sorry to keep giving u one oem. Part review... But type r parts are just that good . for guys like me seeking out lil gains but oem realibity...,

Yes i have a chromoly lightweight flywheel already from exedy. Single piece..no problems so far. Ive really been contemplating putting the Honda 5.062 final drive in once im done with all my power mods

Longer 1st gear? I like the fact that the 5.0 will improve acceleration...i used to do the same thing on my motorcycle...and yes i do need an lsd too..but that is much further down the road
 
Yeah . I heard few guys. Tried the type r civic 5.0final gear.with our gear ratio... But they say it's too much for dAily drive use. 4.7 is just perfect....
Yes I saw a video where they compared side to side with newer civic type r and dc type r... Civic type r 4door just kick ass......
And when they compared... I heard them mention due to longer 1.2 gears....
Longer the gear more tqcan be obtained.....
