i hyrdrolocked and i just put in a new z1 in my 02 chassis..

set up is:
k20z1 stock longblock
a2 tranny, intake manifold, wire harness, and k-pro and throttle body

i cleaned the Intake manifold due to sludge that was sucked in.
i also cleaned the TB but not thoroughly(iacv)

im thinking maybe the sludge also got sucked into the iacv,but
should i try cleaning the iacv or just buy a new one?

idle is cool on startup, til it gets warm idle fluctuates from 1k-2k rpms.

i sprayed carb cleaner on the bottom of the TB where the Iacv hole is and the car sputtered and died.
i also sprayed the manifold and all vacuum lines to see if i have a vacuum leak.motor still kept fluctuating between 1k-2k rpms.

i plugged the TB while the car is on, but motor does not stall..

could this be a simple vacuum leak or a bad iacv.

sure sounds like a leak. plugging the tb should kill the enging almost instantly. if it's still running (and cars need air to run, mind you...) it must be getting air from somewhere else....

nope no leak.
fixed the problem. i bought a whole new iacv from acura.
my stock one was damaged from the the hydrolock.
i opened and cleaned thanks to this thread!:thumbsup:
