I bought the expensive Sylvania bulbs and was impressed with the extra clarity and distance. But six months later; one of them burned out. I replaced the pair and the same thing happened. Headlights are so damned hard to replace (for me) that I just went back to the cheap Sylvania lamps. I've used Phillips too. And I can't tell the difference. At this point; I'll go with whatever will last the longest.
