Hello again, I got a 05 mostly stock minus a couple bolt ons. Either way I've replaced the water pump 3 times now. The first one I ruled out figuring the previous owner had it flashed and over revved the bearing. I replaced it with new and when it started failing I replaced it with a remanufactured one. They all last about 30k...wtf? I admit my car sees redline quite a bit but Im not flashed so its all within factory range. Would a k20a2 water pump offer more reliability and will it fit? Or will this continue till I break down and go to Honda and pay out the ass for a factory replacement. I searched for this subject and didn't find anything. So sorry if its already been covered. Just having trouble getting info on this. Thanks.

So 35 people have nothing to say about water pumps? I'm seriously the only one with this problem? I really don't wanna join another forum. It's a pain in the ass. I hate captchas.

Well sorry to hear you have to replace water pump 3 times.

You know you can get a factory replacement for less on ebay. I know it's kinda risky but hey you never know.

From what I read here, what did you use for the 1st replacement? Factory one?

No just a new replacement. That's also something tht occurred to me was that (and I'm not sure) if the k24 for an accord or something, uses the same housing and has even lower redline. They might be slinging them as a universal. I'm gonna stop by the parts shop and see if item numbers match across the board for the 24 and the a3s and a2s if that's the case then ill need to go factory cuz their bearings are obviously shitty. But I've also gone with 3 diff brands. I dunno guess I was just hopin for a quick easy answer.

go with one of the on line Honda OEM parts supplyers.....90-95 bucks all day long........just a though....how are you installing the pump?.....my advise is to pull the bumper cover, and the radiator so you can see what you are doing.....I guess what I am saying is how do you know the water pumps are shot?A leak? noise? shaft freeplay?........It would not the the first time I have seen people replacing a parts several times when the part was ether being damaged in the way it was installed or they were replacing the wrong part..... please do not take that the wrong way, I am just trying to help.

Small leak out the pee hole and a chirp that's been located with a stethoscope. It's cool I appreciate the help I can get on here, even if its only from the same few guys lol. But 90 bucks ain't too bad. Ill be goin oem if I can hold out long enough. I didn't bother calling Honda after they wanted 350 for a cv shaft. Thanks everyone!
