Whats up CRSX, this is my lil build on my RSX-S. Yessir, my trans finally took a turn for the worst and it's time for a rebuild...or at least a build :chuck:
So long story short, K series are known for having problems in 2-3 gear under abuse. That said, I'm the 3rd owner of the car and it currently has 125K on the the motor. To my surprise the compression on it is spot on (Good enough at least). 190/185/190/190 1-4 cylinders:thumbsup:
On to my trans, it gave me problems in 3rd gear, first was the typical grind then one faithful day on a race it gave out. :dontknow: At first I thought nothing of it but as I played around shifting I had no feel in 3rd. I did not one but 2 trans flush and nothing happend. Eventually it moved on to 4th then second started to go and I had enough and parked the car and started reading on here to see what kinda mess I got myself into.
Luckily I got myself a ride to work till I can fix my problem. Here's the tale of my 05 NSN4 transmission, hopefully it'll shed light to anyone who will have similar to same symptoms as I. So the next day I parked the car and got into work on taking off the trans. Was fairly easy with the help of CRSX Spaz Approved DYI and his videos. Shout out to you brotha! After that's out I've found the problem and I need to stop working out haha. I have a broken 3-4 shift fork from powering my throw to 3rd, busted 3rd gear set, and have a burr 2nd gear which didn't grind but it started to not feel like it was going in.
So I ordered all my parts including the following: 2nd gear by MFactory, LSD v2 MFactory, Honda 3rd gear set, 3-4th shift fork, and Gearspeed Carbon syncros 1-4. Also I upgraded to Competition Clutch Stage 3 for a hell of a deal that I couldn't pass up NEW along with Hasport Mounts 70A.
Currently I'm waiting on both Mfactory 2nd gear and LSD which will be here tomorrow depending if the weather holds up in TN.:noes: Hopefully my car will be done this week so I can break in my clutch and mounts :weeeeeeeeee:
