your springs are not binding, its your upper purches that are binding. they are supose to slide on the shock shaft when you turn the steering wheel and rotate the strut. You may be able to free it up with the front wheels up in the air and the tires off.......if not, you are going to have to pull the struts.

 

how do i free it up? what am i looking for? should i grease it or something?

 

sound like what happens to me..."memory steer"..Ive heard its from bad strut tower bearings?

 

I had this same issue with my megan coilovers.Some one suggested me to take an impact gun to the top bolt on the coilover.After trying out this I didn't got any such noises.Try out this otherwise I think greasing will solve your problem.

 

I just hope the coilover was put togather correctly......but yea, hose the sucker down with some lube, tap it with a dead blow hammer and hope it frees up....other wise you are going to have to take it apart and grease it.
