What basic mods could I do to a TSX safely that could get a little more out of the TSX?

I used to own a RSX-S, but have been out of Acura's for a few years now. Would something like a Comptech Icebox do justice along with a intake manifold gasket? I'm also thinking a short shift kit also.

And does comptech void the warranty? A few years back it didn't, just wanted to make sure it still applied.

Thanks

that is a gray area

Comptech parts do not void your warrant *if the dealership does the install*

of course even if they do decide to *void* your warranty, they still have to prove that said part is the cause of said issue

get injen CAI over icebox.

just curious....why not just go CAI in the first place?>

ive kept mine in SRI. i wanted more low end torque and im just afraid of hydrolock.
only thing is during real hot days the intake really gets bad heatsoak and slows the car down

do you drive through 2-3 foot puddle's? If not, dont worry about hydro-locking.

Hey, hopefully I dont get biased opinions on this...

I was toying with the idea of trading my RSX-S for a TSX a while ago. Only problem is, I don't wanna go to something SLOWER than what I have now.

My questions:

How much slower is a 6spd TSX than an RSX-S?

What would it take to make the 6spd TSX faster than the RSX-S?
--(would a 6spd TSX w/reflash and maybe just an intake be quicker?)--

These are just questions out of curiosity. I dont WANT to mod a car but I can't go from an RSX-S to a slower car...

Then dont buy the TSX. It is not as fast as the RSX-S.....and the difference in speed is quite noticable. Granted, with a reflash and an intake, the TSX performs very well for a sports sedan, but that's just what it is....a sports sedan, not a boy racer.

Now that being said.....I would NEVER go back to the RSX from the TSX now. The TSX is a much better car in every way except speed off the line. If that's all that matters to you then why are you drving an RSX-S anyway? I mean, they are very quick, but there are still lots of cars that can walk them in the 1/4 mile. Believe me, I had the same debate with myself when I was looking to buy my TSX, but I am not at all regretfull. The TSX is decently quick, handles very well, is nimble in the twisties, rides perfectly....and it's PIMP too. Much more style in my new car.

blackout tape ftw! got 4 rolls of it few weeks ago, played around with it and it looks real good. its tough to get out bubbles and cut it right but its worth it.
ive only done one part but in a few days i plan on doing the whole car, including the door handles
