suspension guide for dummies?

are there any websites that explain about how suspension of a car works? like if i wanna get one thing i have to get other things to match. I'm kinda confused cuz if i buy coilover i need to buy other things like camber kit, etc? which i have no idea how those work together...damn, modding is not as easy as i thought...

another quick question on suspension for dummies......I just put on my Sprint Racing springs...2.25 inch initial drop. The camber in front was adjusted to be 0 again, but the rear is negative..which means that I hafta drop more money to get a camber kit (which I will purchase from here tomorrow), and my usual car guy wants $160 to put it on...this suspension thing is way more exspensive than I initially expected! How hard is it to DIY on the camber kit?...the only reason I didn't DIY install on the springs is b/c I couldn't find the right spring compressor (with a safety plate), and I would love to keep all of my beautiful teeth where they are now, not knocked out b/c a spring releases... any help anyone could offer would be great!

Tends to have discrepencys/wrong Information, especially when dealing with something like suspensions. good for general knowlage, not so much for performance tuning.

For example, hers a quote on there "explaining" anti-roll bars

Roll is bad. It tends to put more weight on the outside tires and less weigh on the inside tires, reducing traction. It also messes up steering. What you would like is for the body of the car to remain flat through a turn so that the weight stays distributed evenly on all four tires.
at first glance it looks right... but then you have to realize that Body roll is an EFFECT of weight transfer, not a cause of it. no matter how much or how little body roll a car has, its still going to transfer the same amount of weight to the outside tires. the only way to reduce weight transfer is to 1. Physically remove weight from the car, 2. Lower the cars center of gravity and 3. Widen the track of the car.

I've found this http://www.turnfast.com/tech_handling/handling.shtml to be a much better source.

a camber kit takes a couple mintues to install literally. dont pay $160 for someone else to do it. now if he's going to do the front and rear alignment along with the install that price isnt bad. there is a DIY guide on the forums already. just do a search for cambers kits and its in there somewhere.

You wasted even more money not getting a camber kit and shocks to begin with. Now you will have to pay to have shocks installed because your stock ones will blow when they could have been installed with the springs and now you will have to pay for another alignment. But otherwise Msantas gave you the info you needed.
