I'm looking to pick up a new set of tires and have the list cut down to three possibles:
-Advan Neova AD08
-Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs
-Falken RT-615K

I was wondering if anyone had experience with any of these in the 225/50R16 size? What are you impressions of them? too much sidewall flex? treadwear too fast? too noisey? slow on turn-in? etc.

Thank guys.

Dude, wtf. Why would going to a 225 have more sidewall flex, wear out the tread faster, or slow turn in? Im running 225s and the sidewall is the exact same height. 8.5 sounds WAY too wide but check the tires specs. 225 has longer treadlife and corners like a mofo because its wider. The contact patch is the same size buts its pattern gives you better cornering. Hydroplaning has never been an issue for me but you do feel the road lines a bit more. I LOVE my falken 452's.

Umm... Right so...

I was talking about it being a 50 series tire, not so much just the width. I know my current 55 series tire has a pretty squishy sidewall, but its probably because they are not performance tires. And since different tires use different compounds, Tread pattern (like you said) and sidewall re-inforcement techniques; this effects how responsive the tire is to turn in, in addition to the sidewall flex.

And since the treadwear on most the tire is similar..I think the Advans are 180 while the Star Specs are 200, can't remember the Falkens..I was looking for someone who had experience with possibly more than one of the tires listed above and could compare them. Or if someone thought their tires wore down faster than expected.

So hopefully that helps you understand a little better where I was coming from..maybe I should have been more specific in my initial question.
